Nate Smithson is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, and other mental health concerns across the lifespan. He is passionate about providing compassionate, evidence-based care that helps patients feel understood, supported, and empowered in their recovery.

Nate’s clinical approach emphasizes collaboration, individualized treatment planning, and creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental environment where patients can openly discuss their experiences and goals. He welcomes individuals from diverse backgrounds and is committed to providing inclusive care for LGBTQ+ patients and others seeking a supportive space to engage in treatment.

He has experience working with patients facing complex emotional and psychological challenges, including trauma, suicidality, and co-occurring mental health conditions. He strongly values collaborative care and believes some of the best outcomes occur when therapists, prescribers, and patients work together toward shared treatment goals. By maintaining open communication within the care team, he aims to help create a more cohesive and supportive treatment experience for each patient.

He believes that effective psychiatric care goes beyond symptom management and should focus on helping people build meaningful, sustainable improvements in their daily lives, relationships, and overall well-being.

Outside of work, Nate enjoys fitness training, reading fantasy books, and spending time with his family.
