Stephanie Lewis, MSW-I
Therapist
American Fork Office
About Me:
I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern committed to helping individuals, couples, and
families heal at the deepest level, the level of the mind, relationships, and meaning. My work is
grounded in evidence-based practice, while honoring each person’s unique story, strengths, spirit,
and lived experience.
I specialize in helping people become aware of the patterns that keep them stuck, whether in
addiction, shame, conflict, or self-doubt, and guiding them toward greater self-awareness and
compassion. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to “fix” you, but to
help you reconnect with your inner knowing and capacity for healing.
Personal Philosophy:
I believe healing is relational. The quality of our relationships often determines the quality of our
lives. We are shaped in relationship, and we heal in relationship.
I approach every client with deep respect and authentic care. I believe that when one person
heals, it impacts families, communities, and future generations. My commitment is to walk
alongside you as you develop insight, strengthen your relationships, and create meaningful
change aligned with who you truly are.
Specialties and Areas of Focus:
• Addiction and Self-Sabotage: Helping individuals break destructive cycles, understand the
roots of their behaviors, and build sustainable recovery.
• Couples and Relationship Healing: Supporting partners in rebuilding trust, improving
communication, and restoring emotional safety.
• Families Impacted by Incarceration or Serious Mental Illness: Providing compassionate,
trauma-informed support to families navigating complex systems and relational strain.
• Spirituality and Meaning-Making: Exploring how personal beliefs, purpose, and inner values
influence healing and growth.
• Trauma-Informed Care: Addressing past wounds with both compassion and accountability to
promote real, lasting change.
• Sexual Behavior and Pornography Addiction: Working with individuals struggling with sexual
compulsivity, shame, and desire-related concerns.
• Strength-Based, Client-Centered Treatment: Collaboratively creating goals that reflect your
values and long-term vision.
Therapeutic Approach:
My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment
Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, and spiritually aligned
interventions when desired by the client.
I also utilize the NASW Break Method, a modality focused on identifying emotional addiction
cycles, reframing limiting perspectives, healing relational wounds, and interrupting generational
patterns rooted in shame and fear.
Above all, I tailor therapy to the individual. There is no one-size-fits-all healing process.
What to Expect in Therapy:
In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative, grounded, and compassionate environment where
you feel seen and heard. We will explore your inner world with curiosity and honesty, while also
identifying practical steps toward change.
I will gently and supportively challenge the thoughts and patterns that keep you stuck in guilt,
shame, or fear. My goal is to help you heal your mind, strengthen your relationships, and build a
life that reflects self-respect, purpose, and deeper self-love.
Your healing matters. And I take that responsibility seriously.
