About Me:

I am a Mental Health Counseling Intern who works with individuals of all ages, including children (5+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in supporting clients facing challenges such as anxiety, grief, life transitions, and identity exploration. My approach to therapy is collaborative, emphasizing empathy, personal growth, and evidence-based treatment tailored to each client’s unique needs. My goal is to help individuals navigate their personal experiences while working toward meaningful change aligned with their values and beliefs.

Personal Philosophy: I am a strong believer in individuality and the notion that each person has their own view and perception of the world around them. I also believe that this has been shaped by a number of different factors such as culture, trauma, sexuality, childhood upbringing, genetics and various life experiences which are all vital to consider during counseling. I find value in tailoring a therapeutic experience to the individual and believe that utilizing personal strengths and preferred learning methods can help create effective outcomes. I would like to help clients feel comfortable and empowered to be who they are, and equip them with tools that promote self-care and resilience.

Specialties and Areas of Focus:

  • Anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, etc.)
  • Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples, and Families – providing support across all life stages
  • Life Transitions & Personal Growth (navigating major changes, goal setting, and self-discovery)
  • Grief & Loss (coping with the loss of a loved one, life changes, or existential concerns)
  • Identity & Relationship Support (self-exploration, relationship dynamics, personal values, and belief systems)
  • Faith Transitions & Spiritual Exploration (navigating changes in beliefs, religious concerns, and existential fears)
  • LGBTQ+ Affirming Care (identity exploration, coming out, relationship navigation, and coping with societal challenges)

Therapeutic Approach: My therapeutic approach integrates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and mindfulness. The combination of these techniques can help bridge gaps between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so that they are more homogenous and reflective of the individual. I am also a huge proponent of acceptance and a non-judgmental environment that allows clients to express themselves freely. I believe that through this client are able to break free from perceived confines and thrive by working on becoming the best version of themselves, defined by themselves.

Experience and Education: Current Intern/Student of Clinical Mental Health Counseling at GCU

What to Expect in Therapy: In our sessions, you can expect a collaborative environment where we will work together to explore issues and come up with solutions to help mitigate them. This includes things like processing, goal setting, solidifying healthy coping skills, and challenging irrational thinking. Sessions will also be heavily influenced by your own expectations for what you would like to get out of therapy, as well as adjusted based on what techniques prove to be the most effective for you.
